MOTHER EARTH IS LOW ON RESOURCES

In 1920 only 2 billion people roamed Earth. Now 7 billion people want vehicles. The pollution and material production will sicken us. Vehicles are already the #1 killer of 5-40 year olds in the prime of their life. Spira to the rescue and it floats too!

HUGE RESOURCE SAVINGS THOUGH MASS REDUCTION

Spira achieves 5 to 10 times the resource saving over a conventional auto. Less weight means less energy to build and to operate. Spira4u can go 100,000 miles on just the energy to build a regular car.

SAFER BY BEING LIGHTER?

A 2 x 3.5 meter sheet of honeycomb core board is CNC cut and routed in a few minutes before plastic welding produces a strong chassis. Many standard motorcycle parts are used to keep Spira4u light, simple, and reliable. This new honeycomb core board was first mass produced around 2011 in Germany and then in China in 2014. The embedded glass fibers bend in a crash to absorb energy. Carbon fibers would be much more expensive while only a little stronger. Also, carbon fiber’s rigid stiffness makes them brittle.

LARGE EPP FOAM PANELS ADD AREODYNAMIC SHAPE AND SAFETY

Several molds cracked as we learned how to produce the largest EPP panels around. The tough EPP (expanded polypropylene) foam is like Styrofoam on steroids.

  • "Spira was created to reduce the 50 million injured and 1.2 million killed annually by vehicles. It’s innovative light foam and core board technology also reduces the resources to build and the fuel to power vehicles by a factor of 5 to 10."
